Herbalism in Season of Discovery
Currently there are no new herbs, or herbalism-related Season of Discoveryspecific content. Many of the new crafts in SoD do require herbs, however, makingHerbalism a critical profession for the SoD economy.

Introduction to Herbalism
As a gathering profession, WoW Classic's Herbalism requires you to be awareof your surroundings, have a keen eye to recognize if there is a plant to be pluckedand of course the knowledge of where to find valuable or needed plants.

Herbalism Trainers and Where to Find Them
You can learn Herbalism from any Herbalism trainer at any city of any race.The idea is, when you get out of your starting zone with your character,you will be sent to the city, like Orgrimmar for Orcs, Stormwind for Humans,Thunder Bluff for Taurens and Ironforge for Dwarves and Gnomes etc.
When you arrive at your city, you can ask any City Guard for directions,when asked for a Herbalism trainer, it will be marked on your map and with thatyou can easily find your way to them and learn Herbalism and other professionsor locate other places of interest you need.

How to Gather Plants
When Herbalism is learned as a profession, you will also learn a skill named 
Find Herbsthat will show nearby plant nodes as a golden point at your minimap. I suggest you to put a buttonfor Find Herbs on your Action Bars, because you will need it to constantly re-activatethe skill buff, because just like your other buffs, it does not persist through death and has to bere-applied all the time.
When you see a golden point on your minimap and go to that or you see a plant yourself,you can interact with it to try to pluck the plant and gather it.But you cannot gather all plants from the start, you will see different colors representinghow hard is it for you to gather that certain plant. These colors represent the skill levelneeded to gather the plant and they can be:
- Red means that plant needs higher skill level than you haveand you cannot pluck it.
- Orange means you can hardly pluck this plant,your attempts may often fail but every successful attempt will definitely increase your Herbalism skill.
- Yellow means you can normally pluck this plant,your attempts may sometimes fail and so every successful attempt will generally increase your Herbalism skill.
- Green means you can easily pluck this plant,your attempts will rarely fail and so every successful attempt may not increase your Herbalism skill.
- Gray means you can pluck this plant with no effort,your attempts will never fail and so it will not increase your Herbalism skill.

Gathering Mechanics and Etiquette
Before you start your gathering, these are important to learn and remember,especially in grouped and instanced gameplay:
- Remember that, unlike retail, in WoW Classic, Herb Nodes will disappear when yousuccessfully gather the plant.
- So, If you are in a party with more than one Herbalist, share the plants you findwith them.
- Also, multiple players can gain skill off the same plant if the first person avoidspicking the herbs off the plant by pressing "Escape" after the plant's loot box appears(auto-Loot has to be turned off). That way you can allow other players to gatherand have a chance to raise their Herbalism skill.
- Do not try to pick plants during combat, just wait until all of the party is safebefore any gathering attempt.
- Do not run off to a plant by yourself without letting the other party members know.
- If there are monsters in the way, ask the party to clear them for you.
- Basically, do not do anything to risk the safety of your team just to gather plants.

How to Quickly Level Herbalism from 1 to 300
As you improve your skill in gathering plants, higher skill levels inHerbalism needs to be trained at Herbalism trainers to be able to gather moreplants. The skill levels you will need to train at are:
- Apprentice Level: learned when starting, starts from 1 skill, goes up to 75;
- Journeyman Level: learned when you reach 50 skill, goes up to 150;
- Expert Level: learned when you reach 125 skill, goes up to 225;
- Artisan Level: learned when you reach 200 skill, goes up to 300 and that isthe highest Herbalism Level.
Below are the essential plants needed and the zones you can find them listed step-by-stepto level your Herbalism skill as fast as possible.
6.1.
Step 1: 1-70 Skill
After you learn Herbalism, just enable your Find Herbs and roam around the surroundingareas of the city and starting zones. So your character can be around level 1-10, it is even betterto learn the professions from the start so you can integrate them into your overall levelingexperience. So, after you learn, just pluck every plant you can until you improve your skill to 70+.After you pass 50, you can go back to your city to learn Journeyman Herbalism from the trainers.
For this first step, you mainly need to gather these plants:
- Between 1-50
Peacebloom (1 25 50 100) can be found in open meadowsin Durotar, Tirisfal Glades, and Mulgore for the Horde and Elwynn Forest, Dun Morogh, and Teldrassil for the Alliance; - Between 1-50 Silverleaf (1 25 50 100) can be found under the treesin Durotar, Tirisfal Glades, and Mulgore for the Horde and Elwynn Forest, Dun Morogh, and Teldrassil for the Alliance;
- Between 50-70 Earthroot (15 40 65 115) can be found on or near cliffsin Durotar, Tirisfal Glades, Mulgore, and The Barrens for the Horde and Elwynn Forest, Dun Morogh, and Teldrassil, Westfall, and Darkshore for the Alliance;
- Between 50-70 Mageroyal (50 75 100 150) can be found in open meadowsin The Barrens for the Horde and Westfall and Darkshore for the Alliance.
6.2.
Step 2: 70-150 Skill
At this step, depending on the place you started, you will go to the next zones and, like themobs and quests, plants there will also have increased level. Your character can be around 15-30level bracket, 30+ may be needed for the last parts. Again, you will improve your skillby gathering plants up to 150+. After you pass 125, you can go back to your city to learnExpert Herbalism from the trainers.
To quickly complete this step of leveling, you mainly need to gather these plants:
- Between 70-100 Briarthorn (70 95 120 170) can be found under the treesin The Barrens and Silverpine Forest for the Horde and in Darkshore and Redridge Mountains for the Alliance;
- Between 100-115 Bruiseweed (100 125 150 200) can be found near buildingsin The Barrens for the Horde and in Redridge Mountains, Stonetalon Mountains, and Ashenvale for both Horde and Alliance;
- Between 115-125
- Wild Steelbloom (115 140 165 215) can be found on or near cliffs and hillsin the southern part of The Barrens for the Horde and Stonetalon Mountains, Thousand Needles, Stranglethorn Vale, Wetlands, and Arathi Highlands for both Horde and Alliance;
- Between 125-160 Kingsblood (125 150 175 225) can be found in open meadowsin Stonetalon Mountains, Ashenvale, Wetlands, Hillsbrad Foothills, and Swamp of Sorrows for both Horde and Alliance.
6.3.
Step 3: 150-205 Skill
This step requires you to be in higher level areas mostly, so your character has to be around30-45, up to 50s for the last parts to level their Herbalism with ease. Again, you will keepimproving your skill by gathering plants up to 205+. After you pass 200, you can go back to yourcity to learn Artisan Herbalism, the highest skill level available from the trainers.
At this step, you can stay at Swamp of Sorrows until 205+ skill and mainly you need togather these plants:
- Between 160-185 Fadeleaf (160 185 210 260) can be found under the treesmainly in Swamp of Sorrows for both Horde and Alliance;
- Between 185-205 Khadgar's Whisker (185 210 235 285) can be found under the treesmainly in Swamp of Sorrows for both Horde and Alliance.
6.4.
Step 4: 205-300 Skill
The final step of our leveling requires you to be in highest and max level areas mostly, so at thispoint your character has to be in the 50-60 level bracket to level this last part with ease.This time, you will be able to improve your skill by gathering plants up to 300 and finally reachthe highest skill level.
For the final step you can start at Blasted Lands and Searing Gorge until 230 then mostly stay in Felwoodand Azshara for the last part, but alternatively you can gather these other plants at these listed places too:
- Between 205-230 Firebloom (205 230 255 305) can be found in open zonesin Tanaris, Blasted Lands, and Searing Gorge for both Horde and Alliance.
- Between 230-250 Sungrass (230 255 280 330) can be found in open zonesin Felwood, The Hinterlands, Feralas, and Azshara for both Horde and Alliance.
- Between 250-270 Gromsblood (250 275 300 350) can be found in open zonesin Felwood, Desolace, Ashenvale, and Blasted Lands for both Horde and Alliance.
- Between 270-285 Dreamfoil (270 295 320 370) can be found in open zonesin Azshara or Un'Goro Crater for both Horde and Alliance;
- Between 285-300 Plaguebloom (285 310 335 385) can be found in open zonesin Felwood, Western Plaguelands or Eastern Plaguelands for both Horde and Alliance.

WoW Classic Plants and Where to Farm Them
Each plant can usually be found in certain terrain types. For example, if you are looking for aLiferoot plant to complete a potion, it pays to search around watery areas and not cliffsor open plains.
Here are all the terrain types where you can find certain plants:
- Found in open zones and meadows: Peacebloom, Mageroyal, Kingsblood, Wintersbite,Firebloom, Arthas' Tears, Sungrass, Gromsblood, Golden Sansam, Dreamfoil, Plaguebloom,Icecap, Black Lotus.
- Found under the trees: Silverleaf, Briarthorn, Fadeleaf, Khadgar's Whisker.
- Found on or near cliffs: Earthroot, Wild Steelbloom, Goldthorn, Mountain Silversage.
- Found in or near watery areas: Stranglekelp, Liferoot, Blindweed.
- Found near buildings: Bruiseweed.
- Found near graves and crypts: Grave Moss.
- Found around ruins: Purple Lotus.
- Found in caves: Ghost Mushroom.

Several herbs are side loot from gathering other herbs:
- Swiftthistle drops as a side loot from Mageroyal and Briarthorn.
- Wildvine drops as a side loot from Purple Lotus.
- Bloodvine drops as a side loot when you gather herbs inside Zul'Gurub, if you have Blood Scythe in your bags.
8.
Herbalism Bonuses
You can have more Herbalism skill with various ways. This will allow you to gather plantsthat are slightly out of your reach, so you can both level your Herbalism skill faster andhave lesser failed attempts in general, this becomes useful even at highest level plants.
Below, you will find a list of all of the bonuses from Herbalism.
- First and most important one is the Tauren Racial: Cultivation which gives +15 skill pointsand that's why if you'll be a Horde Herbalist, you may want to seriously consider playing a Tauren.
- There are also Glove Enchants that Enchanting players can apply to any glove, so you can even enchant a grayglove to send to your Herbalist alts. These enchants are:
- Enchant Gloves - Herbalism which gives +2 skill points;
- Enchant Gloves - Advanced Herbalism which gives +5 skill points.
- Finally there is the Herbalist's Gloves, a Leather glove which gives +5 skill points.It is made by Leatherworking players and can be worn by any player who can wear Leatherafter level 22. Note that you can also apply the Enchants above this glove too, which then may givea maximum total of +10 skill points. Also, these gloves become soulbound when equipped.
